Coffee Finca

View from my bedroom.

View from the back porch.

I spent my first night at the new place. I'm not officially moved in yet, but should be by Thursday. I went there because cable TV is included in the rent and I wanted to see the Monday Night Football game (no, I'm none too happy with GB right now). It was so nice to wake up in the morning to birds chirping, a quiet house, and a great view. What a change from waking up to Robo-dog barking, jake-breaking at 4:30 am, reggaeton, doors slamming, and construction. I never thought I'd be living on an organic coffee plantation in the mountains of Central America. The only man-made thing I can see from my back porch is a screen around a garden to keep pests out...otherwise, just a lot of green, mountains, and birds.

Last night I got a call from the owner of the farm. He has a wood-fire pizza oven and he was having a small party at the coffee roasting plant (300 yards from the house). He made an extra pizza for Lyn and I, so I walked over to get it. Excellent pizza!

The last few days have been hectic, but my clients are going to leave with a purchase agreement on a property they love.

Karinsa informed me today that the townspeople have a nickname for me: The Zombie. This is because I walk very upright, usually at a fast pace, and with purpose. I wonder if the people think I also bite :) I can think of worse nicknames...I think I will start introducing myself as "Senior Zombi."
