Tahoe

(Wednesday, January 6, 2010)

Last night, I made a Dungeness Crab dinner because Nat had never tried them, and they were $2 a pound! Unbelievable. I love overabundance in the marketplace! The crab turned out great and we made 5 lbs of crab (gross weight before cleaning) disappear.

On Wednesday, Natalie and I headed to Reno so she could go to Trader Joe's. We went to a climbing gym which was pretty fun, and then had delicious tacos at a taqueria next door. Since Reno was on my way to Salt Lake City, I decided to stay. All the crappy hotels along the freeway were around $45/night so I asked around and a local suggested that I try the Circus Circus downtown. I called and made a reservation for $30/night. Nat helped me with my bags and we parted ways (thanks Natalie! I had a blast!!). Circus Circus was hilarious! The room was great, I was on the 21st floor overlooking Reno, and it is attached to a GIANT casino with shops, restaurants, bars, etc. It was like an indoor city. The best part is, I don't usually gamble, but I decided to play penny slots so I'd get free drinks. Since it was virtually empty and the cocktail girls were bored, I got hooked up.

The next morning, I packed up and was on the road by 8 am to meet up with Mom, Brother, and family in Salt Lake City, UT.
