Woke up at 8am, met Cesar and five other locals plus two 3 year old girls who were climbing for their first time, headed for the closest crag, and climbed until 4pm. It was raining all day, but the wall was overhanging enough to be dry. Plus it's basalt, so there is no rock sweat. I led my first international climb which sapped me, but I did it and it was great! It was a perfect and beautiful day with an amazingly friendly new group of friends.
I met the hostel owner who just had a baby, and is seemingly connected to every business and every person in the area...she gave me some great ideas and suggested opportunities. Buena suerte (good luck) to run into this lady.
Tonight I went to my fav bar with Adam who I was climbing with all day. He was performing covers of great songs with acoustic guitar (see previous entry) and he asked me to play the hand drum alongside him. He is very popular here, so this was a great honor. It's been a long time since I've played, and never in front of an audience. So it was in this way that I earned my first wage in Panama (in beer), just me and him, rocking out.
I can't put into words how excited and happy I am right now. Life is amazing.
